Coffee Brake: From Hokkaido by Nagasaka The Ramen
Hokkaido is famous place for Ramen so-called Dosanko which is based on miso, shoyu or salt soup for a long time. I will introduce you the Ramen which I had the other day.
Ramen Yokocho(Susukino area in Sapporo)
I had a original miso Ramen(\650) at “Shirakaba Sanso” which is famous on TV program. It has a lighter taste and harder noodle than that of Kyoto which is based on rich(heavy) Tonkotsu soup. There is few space and are only 7 seats, and more than double customers were waiting outside. I 
was very surprised that half of them were Chinese and worried that Japanese culture would be eroded by them in the future. Its taste was so so. Although there are 15 shops at Ramen Yokocho, they are crowed with the tourists not with local people. According to the travel agency, local people go to the following shops.

Ramen Dojo(in Shin Chitose airport)
On the other hand, the airport has a similar place named Ramen Dojo and there are about 10 shops. The different point from Ramen Yokocho is that the shops in the area come from not only Sapporo but all over Hokkaido. I had a Shio Ramen (\680) “Jirocho”of Hakodate. It felt very light for me
and taste good. The airport has a lot of restaurants and souvenir stores, and makes visitors very happy. If you go to Hokkaido by plane, I recommend it.

コーヒーブレイク：北の国から ラーメン
北海道と言えば道産子ラーメン。昔からある味噌・醤油・塩味がベースである。先日、私が食べたラーメンを紹介する。
ラーメン横丁（札幌 すすきの）
テレビで有名な“白樺山荘”の定番味噌ラーメンを食べた（\650）。京都のこってりトンコツと違い、あっさりそして麺が固い。店内は狭く、カウンター7席しかないが、外にはその倍の人が待っていた。驚いたのは、客の半分が中国人だったこと。日本文化も中国人に。。。味は可も無く不可もなく。
ラーメン横丁は１５店ほど軒を連ねているが、旅行者向けであり地元人は来ないらしい。なお、地元旅行会社によれば、下記が美味いとのこと。

ラーメン道場（新千歳空港内）
一方、空港にも似たものがある。名前も“ラーメン道場”で、やはり１０店ほどある。違うのは道内全域からの出店だ。ここでは、函館「次郎長」の塩ラーメンを食べた（680円）。とてもあっさりしていて美味かった。空港には、他に土産店・食堂街と沢山あり興味は尽きない。北海道に行くのなら、ここで時間を取ることを勧める。
